RAY DIAGRAMS

REFRACTION OF LIGHT AT CURVED SURFACES

RAY DIAGRAMS:

1) OBJECT AT INFINITY:
When an object is at infinity we get an image at focus.

2) OBJECT BEYOND CENTER OF CURVATURE:
When an object is beyond the center of curvature we get an image between focus and center of curvature. the image is real inverted and diminished.

3) OBJECT AT CENTER OF CURVATURE:
When an object is at the center of curvature we get an image at the center of curvature, the image is the real inverted and the same size.

4) OBJECT BETWEEN FOCUS AND CENTER OF CURVATURE:
When an object is between focus and center of curvature we get an image beyond the center of curvature. the image is real inverted and magnified.

5) OBJECT AT FOCUS:
When an object is at focus we get the image at infinity.

6) OBJECT BETWEEN FOCUS AND OPTIC CENTER:
When an image is between focus and optic center we get an virtual upright and enlarged image.
